At Timberline, we set high quality goals, and then we knock them out of the park. It’s part of who we are. Ask any of our company leaders, staff, and personnel about our current certifications, quality control measures and processes, and they will tell you about our pursuit of excellence.

Our company is AS9100D certified. While not every project needs the precision and quality required for the aerospace industry, it goes into every product we assemble.

Continuous improvement

In today’s competitive market, we understand the need to improve processes on an ongoing basis. Our continuous improvement program, which includes Lean and 5S initiatives, has proven to be very successful, and has resulted in positive impacts on our clients’ — and our own — products and processes.

Overview of certifications

AS9100D Certification

Timberline Manufacturing has established and maintains a quality management system for the manufacturing of cable and wire harness assemblies, custom electronics, control panels, and high frequency radios according to customer requirements. We are currently certified to AS9100D including all of the requirements of ISO 9001:2015.

The Timberline facility is compliant with the U.S. Department of State’s International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) standards.

CE Mark

The CE marking indicates that a product complies with European legislation on health, safety, and environmental protection. This ensures the product is legal to sell and to distribute throughout Europe. Timberline can provide CE marking or listing for your subassembly depending on your needs. We can also provide guidance to help your subassembly comply if it does not already.

IPC/WHMA-A-620 Standard

We train and certify our production, engineering, and quality team members to the IPC/WHMA-A-620 standard, as an integral part of our commitment to continuous improvement of product quality and reliability. We have one Certified IPC Trainer (CIT) on staff who has trained and certified more than 89 team members as Certified IPC Specialists (CIS) – that’s the second highest number in the state of Iowa. There are currently more than 60 CIS on the Timberline team.
